Laying the Foundation for Digital Success in Bhutan

Digitalization is the cause of large-scale and sweeping transformations across multiple aspects of business, providing unparalleled opportunities for value creation and capture, while also representing a major source of risk. Learning from the digital transformation experiences in the industries and governments around the world, and leveraging the transformative capabilities of digitalization in terms of creating, capturing and delivering value; DHI has envisioned to digitalize the group by 2025. Towards achieving this vision and delivering digital value to the society, the group must embark upon laying the foundations of the digital transformation, which includes establishing digital governance, developing digital capabilities, and delivering digital value.  

To assist digital transformation of the DHI Group, DHI will publish an innovation resource guide and also implement other initiatives that cater to creating a greater ecosystem that directly or indirectly address the three tracks for digital transformation and the laying of the four foundations of digital transformation listed here. 

Drawing upon the objectives and initiatives of the roadmap, Group companies must immediately define their digital transformation journey, and chart out implementation plans beginning 2020.

DIGITAL GOVERNANCE 

Digital transformation initiatives create digitalization as the backbone of businesses and it is important to develop digital governance based on an agile framework to accommodate this change. Digital governance includes policies, strategies, guidelines, standards, and teams. The governance guides transformation of businesses and operating models, enterprise mobility, processes, and shadow ITs. DHI shall spearhead establishment of digital governance for the group based on frameworks responsive to ever-changing digital trends.  

DIGITAL CAPABILITIES

People, processes, technology, and content are the pillars of digital transformation for the DHI group and capabilities must be developed in each of these tracks. By adopting an inclusive approach, the group aims to review, improve, and digitalize business processes as well as integrate digital innovations with existing systems; invest in appropriate digital technologies and create digital platform of appropriately integrated data and processes; and develop digital mindset, toolset, and skillset of its people. In doing so, the group will be able unlock digital values in customers’/stakeholders’ journey while ensuring efficiency gains for the group.  

DIGITAL VALUE

Digital transformation must create and deliver value to the stakeholders (partners, customers, and shareholders). All initiatives that are undertaken are expected to enhance stakeholder experience. DHI group shall empower the stakeholders through collaborative engagement in development of self-service platforms which will be integrated with business processes, thereby ensuring co-creation of value and inclusivity.
