Transport Management System

Transport Management System aims to implement an efficient public transport system can ease issues around traffic congestion and improve mobility in increasingly congested cities.

Urban mobility plays an increasingly important role in urban growth and development and at the same time is becoming apparent for growing cities across Bhutan. Therefore, the implementation of an efficient public transport management system can help ease issues around traffic congestion by solving part of the current congestion problems.

Similarly, cities can move one step further by implementing solutions under the Smart Mobility initiative. These solutions will enlist innovative and sustainable technology in an effort to improve mobility in increasingly populated cities. Some of these solutions include the development of vehicle and parking management systems. These systems will be supported by both advanced technology and the proactive actions of citizens.

As a result of daily advancement in technology, there is a dire need to implement those technologies to solve real time problems. This has to be done in order to achieve sustainable and accessible facilities. Thus, the implementation of vehicle and parking management systems will solve problems related to the monitoring of vehicle status and parking congestion. Consequently, implementing these technologies within the transport management system will ease out many burdens that the transport industry currently faces. It also allows the public to access such facilities with ease.

Vehicle Management System

Vehicle management systems play a critical role in transport management systems as we can closely monitor the real time functioning of the vehicle. The technology called CAN BUS will be used to solve this issue for now. It will report all data on real time functioning of vehicles to analytics platforms like GUI/Apps. As a result, we can access the reports for analysis as per the need.

Traffic Management System

The traffic and parking management system will incorporate image processing techniques. These techniques will capture the images of the vehicle number plate and its physical structure to run the algorithm. Thus, the system will register the number plate of the car, taken from the image captured, to automatically calculate parking fees in the parking management system. Furthermore, to address the problem of security, image processing techniques will permit the end user to allow or deny access to the vehicle.
