What we measure, and what we don't.

A short, plain description of the only data this site collects about visitors — no analytics run here until you say yes.

01

What we measure

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which parts of this site are useful — which projects and research pieces get read, which pages people leave from, and roughly where visitors are coming from.

That means: pages visited and the order you visited them in, how long you stayed, your approximate location derived from your IP address (city level at most, never the address itself), device and browser type, and the site that referred you.

02

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or anything you type into a form as analytics data. When you submit an idea, an internship application, or a visiting researcher request, that information goes only to our own database so we can respond to you — it is never passed to Google.

We do not sell data, run advertising, or use this site for remarketing. There are no third-party trackers beyond the analytics described here.

03

Consent comes first

No analytics script loads until you accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is requested from Google and no analytics cookies are set. This is stricter than the common approach of loading the tag immediately and asking afterwards.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser rather than in a cookie, so it is not transmitted to us on every request.

04

Changing your mind

You can withdraw or grant consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which resets the banner on your next visit. Browser-level tracking protection and Do Not Track settings continue to apply on top of anything set here.

05

Retention and access

Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period under our property settings and is accessible only to the DHI InnoTech team. Google processes it as our data processor, under its own terms.

Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and the programme it relates to.
